Xbox appoints Kayleen Walters to XP and Maria Angelidou-Smith as Mojang CEO
XP covers films, licensing, partnerships and destinations; Mojang’s new CEO brings large-community platform experience.
Kayleen Walters will leave Mojang to become president of Xbox XP, a new division for franchise experiences beyond games: films, licensing, partnerships and destinations. Before Xbox she spent thirteen years at Lucasfilm leading Star Wars across films, products and collaborations.
Maria Angelidou-Smith becomes CEO of Mojang and Minecraft from Monday 19 October. She brings nearly a decade at Meta leading Facebook Groups and other functions, plus product and technology leadership at Personio and Reddit. That community-platform experience is seen as important for Minecraft.
