The soulslike in an alternate nineteenth-century Europe struck by the Crimson Plague is available across Xbox platforms.
Valor Mortis launched on 13 October 2026, a soulslike action game set in an alternative nineteenth-century Europe struck by the Crimson Plague. It is available on Xbox Series X|S, PC through Xbox and Game Pass, with Xbox Play Anywhere allowing multiple devices from one purchase.
Combat centres on posture. Hitting weak points such as glowing pustules fills nephtoglobin and can drop ammunition; breaking an opponent’s posture bar enables heavy attacks or finishers. Parrying requires avoiding attacks you cannot finish. A perfect parry produces a metallic clang and opens a counterattack, restoring health after a block.
A producer’s perspective
Simultaneous availability across Xbox Series X|S, PC and Game Pass implies testing and certification management across three environments. Unbalanced QA resources could leave more platform-specific bugs and delay post-launch patches. Assessment needs testing hours by target and certification status at go-live.
