Free Quarantine Zone: Miami Zero expansion arrives on Xbox Series X|S and PC
The DLC moves to Miami with more than thirty new survivors, inspection mechanics and dynamic weather.
Quarantine Zone: Miami Zero is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, including through Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, free for owners of the original game. It launched alongside an overhaul and improvement of the main campaign. Remember sunscreen: Miami’s sun is already shining on the new map.
The expansion takes players to Miami’s streets, where the outbreak began, adding more than thirty survivors with unique voices, appearances and animations. New features include inspection mechanics, tools for detecting symptoms and contraband, a research centre with mutant experiments, a ship-repair mission and dynamic weather with tropical rain and sandstorms. New settings include a pier and music festival.
A producer’s perspective
Miami Zero is free for original owners and adds dynamic weather and over thirty survivors. Variable weather could increase rendering load and affect Xbox Series X|S frame rates, particularly in heavy rain. If that happens, graphical optimisation would need consideration. Quantifying the risk requires performance benchmarks before and after the update on both platforms.
